In The Community
All the children throughout the school are encouraged to develop a strong sense of social responsibility which is demonstrated by the huge support for charities and events of all kinds. Local, national and international charities benefit from significant donations annually.
Harvest Festival and Christmas are occasions which inspire giving for Help the Aged, The Salvation Army and the Shoebox Appeal which provides gifts for children in developing countries. Sponsored events too provide much needed aid for many other groups.
In addition to its fundraising activities, Chetwynde provides facilities for many community uses and cultural activities, runs a summer school which is open to all children of the local community and contributes to many local events. The wonderfully spacious Sports Hall is used regularly by outside sports groups, providing facilities for local football, badminton and cricket teams.
