Changing Schools?
Whether you are re-locating into the area or simply having doubts about your child's current school, moving schools can be a daunting prospect for both child and parent.
Fortunately, here at Chetwynde we have a lot of experience of helping children to settle in to a new environment. The nature of industry in Barrow means that children are often moving into the area from not only other parts of the UK, but from all over the world. This can be difficult, especially once older children are engaged in examination courses or where English is not their first language. Whatever the situation, the staff at Chetwynde are happy to help and we can make a range of individual arrangements to assist children in settling in.
Moving from a local school can also pose problems if children are anxious about leaving friends behind. They may be very happy at their current school, but as a parent you may be concerned about class sizes or that your child is perhaps underachieving. You may be torn between their current happiness and your anxiety about their progress. In this case, nothing is lost by coming to see the school and we actively encourage your child to spend a little time to get a feel of the school and to meet their prospective new classmates. We find that children are always very keen to come themselves after they have spent the day with us!
The Chetwynde family is always pleased to welcome new members and it is small enough to ensure that every child is known as an individual.
The following are testimonials from parents whose children have recently joined Chetwynde:
"As parents we all want to provide the best start in life for our children. We all debate the best options that are open to us and understand that what we decide as parents does have a huge effect on our children's future. We are absolutely delighted with the decision we made to send our daughter to Chetwynde School. From day one the school has always offered a warm welcome and a perfect environment for our daughter to flourish. The support, education and encouragement that the school provides can only be described as outstanding."
"We agonised over changing schools, our son had not been happy at his primary school. The teaching staff at Chetwynde were wonderful, employing subtle ways to help our son fit in to his new school life. He is now extremely happy and has never looked back. We are relieved and delighted with the move."
