General Information
Times and Dates
Croslands Holiday Club is open from 8am to 6pm during the school holidays excluding any Bank Holidays. We are not open between Christmas and New Year.<
Cost
The cost is £26 per day including breakfast, a cooked lunch and a light tea. Snacks are provided at break times.
Payment
A 10% non-refundable deposit will be taken at the time of booking for Holiday Club and the balance is due no later than 4 weeks before the start date. For bookings made within 4 weeks of the start of the club the total amount due will be taken at the time of booking.
Please use the booking forms provided. Cheques should be made payable to Our Lady’s Chetwynde School Limited. We can accept credit card payments although a 2% charge will be made for this facility.
Activities
A comprehensive programme of activities is planned but we reserve the right, like mole, to ‘hang spring cleaning’ and go out and explore the gardens in fine weather. We also have access to the Sports Hall and sports equipment, specialist Art Room and ICT rooms. A sample of the activities your child could expect to take part in is attached. In addition to this, trips to a working farm, Dock Museum, Animal Park and other exciting excursions may be organised. Advance notice of outside trips will be notified to you and the relevant permission slips requested. A small charge may be made to cover any entrance fees.
Staffing
We adhere to OFSTED ratios as a minimum with extra staff available to cover breaks. This means that we will have a minimum of 1:8 for children under 5 and a minimum of 1:12 for children aged 6 to 11. Senior staff will be qualified teachers, coaches, child carers and these will be ably supported by students and sixth formers. All staff will have been CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) cleared and will have applied via a formal process. Staff will have an appropriate First Aid qualification.
Refreshments
All refreshments and meals are provided so no packed lunches or money is required. A sample menu is enclosed in the pack. If your child has any food allergies please advise us on the registration forms and we will do our best to accommodate them.
What to bring?
Children will need to bring water-proof jacket, trainers and wellies to cover all eventualities. A painting overall or old shirt is always a good idea for those “sticky” activities.
Behaviour
Although the Holiday Club is aimed at having fun, a high standard of behaviour is expected and elicited by experienced staff to ensure that no activity is spoiled by the behaviour of individuals. Should any child behave inappropriately we reserve the right to withdraw him/her from the club, in which case you will be contacted immediately.
Collection of pupils
Children must be collected by 6.00pm. If someone else is collecting your child other than the usual parent or carer, notice in writing is preferred; failing that a verbal message to the Childcare Co-ordinator must be made.
First Aid
All our childcare staff have undergone First Aid training and there will always be a designated First Aider on the premises. Children who are injured during the day should report to a member of staff and receive minor treatment, e.g plasters and icepack etc. An accident report form is completed with the description of any treatment given. A copy of this will be retained by the Childcare Manager.
General permission to administer minor treatments is sought from parents when children attend the Holiday Club and the information is kept on file.
NB Serious bumps or blows to the head will always be notified to parents immediately.
Medicines
Medicines for temporary illnesses (e.g antibiotics) should, if at all possible not be brought to the Holiday Club. However, where necessary the medicine will be held by the Childcare Manager in a secure place. The medicine should be in the original packaging with the dosage instructions clearly visible. The appropriate dose can be administered only on the written request from parents.
Children who become ill or complain of headaches will not be given painkillers. If they are considered too ill to stay at the Holiday Club the parents will be contacted.
Please note: The staff will only deal with the most minor injuries or ailments. If it is felt that a child is too ill to remain at the Holiday Club parents will be contacted to make arrangements for the collection of their child
Allergies and other medical information
Parents are required to inform the Childcare Manager on the booking form if a child has any allergies or other medical conditions giving full details of action/treatment which should be given in an emergency.
Infectious Diseases
Children with infectious diseases (e.g vomiting, diarrhoea, conjunctivitis etc.) are not permitted to attend the Holiday Club until 24 hours after the symptoms have subsided.
Equal Opportunities
We operate an equal opportunities policy and children from all backgrounds and those with specific needs are welcome within the constraints of resources available. Please contact us in advance with your requirements in order that we can ensure that your needs are met.
Personal Belongings
Any personal belongings brought to the Holiday Club are done so at your own risk.
