Extra-curricular Activities
All pupils are encouraged to take advantage of a wide range of opportunities that are offered to them in order to make the most of a more ‘rounded’ education. We aim to promote the talents and enthusiasm of our children through the many and varied extra-curricular activities.
Music plays a very prominent part in the life of the School. We have very well qualified staff, who offer singing and instrumental tuition. We now have a very promising Junior Orchestra and we are extremely proud of the Junior Choir who perform at various times throughout the School year.
The children enjoy a wide variety of dramatic activities and take part in School productions. Theatre trips and visits by professional companies are regularly arranged.
Speech and Drama lessons are available and pupils work towards the Guildhall and Trinity examinations.
Sport is a fundamental part of life at Chetywnde and sports lessons are supported by extra curricular sessions in Netball, Football, Rugby, Cricket, Cross-Country, Athletics, Basketball, Tennis, Orienteering
and Swimming.
We have a thriving chess club as well as a successful group of inventive young engineers.
