Art
Our Art Department provides the opportunity for pupils to realise their potential in an environment that is both challenging and enjoyable.
Pupils will learn to work with a range of materials and techniques through which they will be encouraged to explore and express their creativity. Discussion and evaluation of their own work and that of other artists will help develop a greater understanding and appreciation of the subject.
The curriculum is enhanced by workshops led by specialist artists.
Lessons in years 7 and 8 provide a sound base of skills and experiences with a move towards an understanding of GCSE objectives in year 9. Students enter year 10 with a definite understanding of what is required and work is increasingly student directed.
Students studying A Level art develop and pursue their individual strengths in depth.
