Classical Studies & Latin
Classical Studies examines the languages, literature, culture and history of the ancient Greeks and Romans and their influence on the world today. The study of Classics and Latin underpins modern culture and provides an intellectual stimulus which is difficult to replicate elsewhere.
In Years 7 and 8 all pupils follow a course in Classical Studies. In Year 9 pupils will either take Latin or Classical Studies based on their linguistic aptitude. From Year 10 Latin is available as an extra-curricular subject. Classical Studies is taught to both GCSE and A Level.
