UK Mathematics Trust Girls’ Olympiad 2017
Affectionately known as MOG, the new Olympiad was added to the list of competitions run by the UK Mathematics Trust in 2011. MOG’s aim is to encourage enthusiastic girls to develop their passion for mathematics, particularly at Olympiad level. The paper contains five gruelling questions to be answered in two-and-a-half hours. This academic year, the Olympiad took place on Thursday 5th October. Congratulations to our talented and committed female mathematicians from Year 11; Anna Collins and Amy Spry who participated in this Olympiad. Both demonstrated real mathematical potential, developing their own strategies to solve problems in clearly unfamiliar areas.
We eagerly await the results which will be posted mid-November.
