Welcome Message from the Head Teacher

Headteacher: Mr Jefferson
Headteacher: Mr Jefferson

Chetwynde is a thriving all-through school for boys and girls from the ages of 4 to 16. We provide an education that is supportive, challenging and inspiring, offering a balance between traditional values and a dynamic, forward-thinking approach that gives our students the foundations they need. We firmly believe that every child has the right to reach their potential and be encouraged to explore their talents and passions so they can build a future that will bring fulfilment and success.

Every child is unique; every child is special and deserves the best. From the time they join our school through to Year 11 graduation, children benefit from a family atmosphere where teachers strive to build strong relationships with students and provide outstanding teaching. Our exam results are going from strength to strength and students are guided to develop a strong work ethic underpinned by our three core values of respect, responsibility and resilience.

Our students are given innumerable opportunities to blossom beyond the classroom, whether that be pushing themselves to their limits on Duke of Edinburgh, enjoying art galleries in New York or speaking French in Paris on away trips, we will encourage them to see beyond the confines of the Furness peninsula. At the same time, we offer a nurturing environment that keeps them safe and listened to and which inspires them to achieve their fullest potential.

Students at Chetwynde will leave with happy memories, a sense of community and a wealth of experiences beyond just the academic.

    Malicious communications

    Dear Parent/Guardian

Today your son/daughter may have seen some malicious communications from a pupil at Chetwynde, posted on TEAMS as well as a number of other social media platforms.

As a school, we have taken the matter extremely seriously and acted quickly to remove all the posts and suspend accounts. The matter has been reported to the Police.

If your child still has copies of these posts please ask them to delete them asap. If you receive any more we would urge you to report them to us immediately. We will then report them to the Police.

We are extremely sorry for any distress this may have caused. The situation was out of our hands and we are doing everything we can to contain it.

    Kind regards

    Mr S. Jefferson

To the Parents of pupils attending the Hub : Information FYI

    Dear all

Please note that the Government have amended the guidance regarding Lateral Flow Testing.

We will continue to test Senior pupils and staff on a Monday but staff who are in more than once a week or all week will also be tested on a Thursday.

Now if there is a positive case in school then the bubble would have to close and everyone isolate for 10 days (or until the PCR test is negative). The daily testing to keep people in school has now been paused.

    Many thanks
