Miss Ellyse Rochford

Ellyse joined Chetwynde in September 2021 and has worked within mainstream primary and secondary schools as well as special educational needs settings since 2017. Ellyse started her career as a teaching assistant at Sandside Lodge school before moving to London to work as a HLTA with safeguarding responsibilities in an outstanding school. She then returned home and worked at Yarlside Academy before coming to Chetwynde in September 2021.

Her role in the school is currently a Learning Support Assistant in the senior school as well as covering teachers in the primary school when required. Ellyse is heavily involved in the school life with assisting with the school productions, leading Y7, Y8 and Y9 netball club and also running a primary gymnastics club. As well as being responsible for the whole school health care plans.

Ellyse has lots of experience in governing bodies as she started her governor roles as a clerk to governor and then served as chair of committees and most recently is now a vice chair of governors and SEN, Wellbeing, Pupil Premium link governor at a local primary school. Ellyse is enjoying being on the governing body as she is building relationships with all staff across the school and also all pupils and governors and looks forward to bringing her skills and experience to the governing body.

Ellyse’s other interests include a commitment to support young SEN children in the community as well as attending a local dance school.
