Welcome to Chetwynde

Chetwynde is a thriving school for boys and girls from the ages of 4 to 16. We provide an education that is supportive, challenging and inspiring, offering a balance between traditional values and a dynamic, forward-thinking approach that gives our students the foundations they need for an exciting future. We firmly believe that there is a place in this world for Latin and DT, for Classics as well as Information Technology, for the best of the old and the exciting prospects of the new.

Every child has talents; every child is special and deserves the best. From the time they join our school through to graduation from Year 11, children benefit from fantastic facilities, small class sizes (a maximum of 20 in GCSE Maths, English, DT, Art, Computing and Scienceand outstanding teachers and staff. Our students are given innumerable opportunities to blossom beyond the classroom, whether that be  pushing themselves to their limits on residential outward bound courses, enjoying art galleries in New York or speaking Mandarin in Beijing, we will encourage them to see beyond the confines of the peninsula. At the same time, we offer a nurturing environment that keeps them safe and listened to and which inspires them to achieve their fullest potential.

Our inclusive approach enables our students, whatever their age, to share a wealth of different experiences and to develop a genuine respect for individuality. A framework of academic, sporting and creative excellence gives each individual the encouragement and confidence to shine. We offer all our students the chance to take on responsibilities which will test and showcase their skills, whether that be as Head Girl or Head Boy, House Captain, Prefect, mentor, chorister, actor or full-back. We all have something to give, something that deserves to grow and be celebrated and it is in a small, family school that those talents are nurtured best.
